The Year 8 Drama Assessment will take place in a Drama lesson during the Assessment Week (w/c 16th March)
N.B If students are studying Music at this time, the Drama Assessment will take place before half-term ( w/c 9th February).
The examination will last for the whole lesson
There will be 50 marks split across the assessment areas of creating and refining work, performance and evaluation.
The assessment will not involve writing and will be made through observation, teacher questioning and live feedback.
Students will have been exploring, devising and using different stimuli as a starting point for creating drama.
The assessment will involve students being given a scene to create in pairs or a small group that they will work on independently based on the stimulus that week.
They will then perform this to their teacher and peers and we will do some verbal evaluation afterwards. At some point in the lesson, the teacher will assess each student individually through questioning about the choices they have made, how the work has been created and how it can be improved.
We would expect students to use their previous knowledge of developing work in drama as well as utilising the key words we have been focusing on.
