The Year 9 Drama Assessment will take place in a Drama lesson during the Assessment Week (w/c 1st December)
Your assessment will take place over two lessons
There will be 50 marks split across the assessment areas of creating and refining work, performance and evaluation.
The students will be assessed through observation, teacher questioning, live feedback and a written task.
Students will have been exploring 'Approaches to a Script'.
The assessment will involve students being given a scene from the play, "The 100" - to create in pairs or a small group that they will work on independently. They will have a lesson to develop and prepare the scene through structured development activities.
The following lesson they will perform this to their teacher and peers and we will do an evaluation afterwards as well as a written reflection task. At some point in each lesson, the teacher will assess each student individually through questioning about the choices they have made, how the work has been created and how it can be improved.
We would expect students to use their previous knowledge of developing work in drama as well as utilising the key words we have been focusing on.
