Students will have explored and developed multiple music skills across the first two terms including: Performance, Composition and Listening and Appraising.

During the assessment, students will first undertake a practical assessment and then complete an online assessment testing the key terms and knowledge they have learnt throughout the year. 

Students will be assessed individually through a live performance of a provided musical piece. The teacher will mark the performance in real-time, with the expectation that students demonstrate their prior musical knowledge and technical abilities.

Please note that playing a musical instrument—whether through private tuition or self-teaching—is fundamental to a student's success when choosing GCSE Music in Year 10.
